Bagonza John

From: Kasese, Uganda
Time at the College: Since 2008

John is the Head Tutor of Catering and Hotel Management. He was born and raised in the Kasese District. After being a hotelier in Kampala for several years, John noticed the RVC through the media and radio, so he decided to apply. As he joined the Team in 2008, he experienced the first steps of the RVC  and contributed to the development process through all the years.
In the first place John chose Catering and Hotel Management because it was a practical course and he admired the way how hoteliers behave and dress.  Afterwards he was motivated by his brother to become a teacher because was he a head teacher in a local primary school and was able to pay the fees and take care of the family.
His teaching subject is also part of his life besides the college, the former Hotelier adores to cook in his free time e.g. simple Chapati, Muchomo and many more. John also used to do sports like football, but unfortunately an injury during a national competition hindered him to keep going.
Because of his experience he is connected to many hotels and restaurants all over Uganda. Therefore our students can benefit from him when it comes to the first practical work in Catering and Hotel Management. So he can connect the students after their diploma to Hotels and Guesthouse to turn theory into practical performance training and earn experience to find a job afterwards easily. So the students learn what and how to do anything correctly in terms of behavior and efficiency in the practical way.
